The owners of this 1960's ranch house were looking to add a full second floor and substantially re-conceive the ground floor layout. It was important to them
that the house be designed using Feng Shui principals. This impacted particular locations of different spaces as well as the flow and relationships between them.
Their  Feng Shui consultant reviewed our plans before we finalized the layout.

They wanted a large, open entertaining space that would incorporate the existing kitchen, dining, living room and master bedroom suite. The second floor will have the new master suite, two bedrooms, an office space and gym (to be used as a future bedroom.)

Proposed First Level Plan
The entire back of the house will be opened up to create a loft like living and entertaining area. With the second floor addition, ceiling heights on this level will be raised to 10' in the center area.

The exterior is being completely re-clad with a combination of wood siding, cement fiber panels and metal panels.
A new cantilevered balcony off the master bedroom provides shading to the large glass panels in the living area below.
